POLICEMEN OPENS FIRE ON UNIOSUN STUDENTS - CRISIS LOOMS




On Saturday morning, policemen allegedly shot at some students of the Osun State University at  Oke Baale area of Osogbo while playing football.


Two students were hit by the bullets during the attack. One of the student identified as Abiola Kazeem, was said to have been hit on the stomach, medical attention was rejected at two hospitals before he was taken to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Osogbo where he is current recuperating.

The other victim, Ibrahim, who was said to have been hit by the bullet in the mouth, is receiving treatment at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital at Jolayemi area of Osogbo.

Information reached that policemen came to a football pitch and started shooting sporadically shouting Yahoo boys.

It was also gathered that Some protesters gathered in front of Oke Baale Police Station, attempted to raze down the station only to be countered by policemen on duty

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs. Folashade Odoro confirmed the incident, assuring that due investigation will be carried out on this case and anybody found responsible will surely face the law.
